The homecomings of the Afghan Taekwondo athletes from Pakistan G2 contests
The worm welcome & greetings was organized by H.E Ahmadullah wasiq (The General Director of Afghanistan’s sports), & numerous other sports officials to the National Taekwondo team who obtained 1st position in the 5th round of open fighting Taekwondo contests hosted by Pakistan.
H.E Ahmadullah quoted in the cermony: despite major complications such as Herat quake & the unkind repatriations & expulsions of the Afghan refugees from Pakistan, the athletes are giving us optimism and positive energy which is highly appreciated. H.E congratulated the two Afghan Gold medalists known as Mohsin Rizaye & Bashir Taraki & promised the athletes for his level best assistance & backing for future games.
The Director of National Taekwondo Federation Mr. Najibullah Sikandar stated: it is a proud moment for me while participating in the achievement ceremony of the Afghan athletes, he added, we strongly believe that the National sports authorities would fully support us for the upcoming of 2024 contests.
The G2 contests was held for 1 day from Nov 5th to 6th in which 315 athletes from 23 countries along with 10 Afghan athletes participated.
The Afghan athletes in total attained 2 Gold medals & 2 Silver medals.
The Afghan athletes known as Mohin Rizaye & Ali akbari after defeated their adversaries from Pak & KSA won the Gold medals, on the other hand, Hikmatullah Zain & Omaid Sahak also defeated their opponents for Silver medals.
At the end of the ceremony, the Captain of the National Taekwondo team Moshin Rizaye & Bashir Taraki was given valued gifts from sports authorities.
